Working Days Calculator
Count business days between two dates, excluding weekends and holidays.
About the Working Days Calculator
Project deadlines, notice periods, and SLAs are usually counted in working days, not calendar days. The AlarmDaddy Working Days Calculator counts the business days between two dates, automatically excluding Saturdays and Sundays, with an option to subtract a number of public holidays.
Enter a start date and an end date, and optionally the number of holidays in that window. The calculator returns the working-day count and the total calendar-day count side by side, so you can see how weekends and holidays affect a timeline. It is invaluable for HR notice periods, delivery estimates, and government processing timelines that are quoted in working days.
How to use this calculator
- 1Enter the start date.
- 2Enter the end date.
- 3Optionally enter the number of public holidays in the range.
- 4Read the working-day count alongside the total calendar days.
The formula
The calculator walks through every date in the range, counts only Monday-to-Friday days, then subtracts any holidays you specify that fall on weekdays. Weekend days are never counted.
