About the Image Resizer

Need a photo at exactly 800 pixels wide, or a square thumbnail for an upload that rejects big images? The AlarmDaddy Image Resizer scales any image to the width and height you set, with an aspect-ratio lock so it never looks stretched, and exports as PNG, JPG or WebP.

It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded — so it's fast and private.

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Choose or drag in an image.
  2. 2Enter the target width and/or height (keep the lock on to preserve proportions).
  3. 3Pick the output format.
  4. 4Press Resize and download.

The formula

new dimensions = your width × height; with aspect lock, height = width × (original height ÷ original width).

The image is redrawn on a canvas at your target dimensions. With aspect ratio locked, changing one dimension automatically updates the other to keep the original proportions, so the picture isn't distorted.

Frequently asked questions

Not if you keep "Lock aspect ratio" on — the tool keeps the original proportions. Turn it off only if you deliberately want to stretch to exact dimensions.
