Most months have 30 or 31 days. Seven months — January, March, May, July, August, October and December — have 31 days. Four months — April, June, September and November — have 30 days.
February is the exception: it has 28 days in a common year and 29 days in a leap year. Leap years keep the calendar aligned with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, adding a day roughly every four years.
