About the Interactive World Map — Countries, Capitals & Time

Part atlas, part world clock: the AlarmDaddy Interactive World Map is a colourful, zoomable map of every country. Click a country (or its area) and a panel shows its **flag, name and population**, its **capital and the capital's population**, the **time zone**, and a live **analog and digital clock with the full date** for that country — all updating to the second.

Pan by dragging, zoom with the buttons or your mouse wheel, and hover to see country names. Switch population figures between **Indian (Lakh/Crore)** and **International (Million/Billion)** units. It's a fun, informative way to explore the world and instantly know what time it is anywhere — and like all AlarmDaddy tools it runs entirely in your browser.

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Drag to pan and use the +/− buttons or scroll to zoom the map.
  2. 2Hover a country to see its name; click to select it.
  3. 3Read the capital, country and capital population, and the live time and date.
  4. 4Toggle Indian (L/Cr) or International (M/B) population units.

The formula

The map is drawn from country boundary data using an equirectangular projection; clicking a country looks up its capital, populations and time zone, and renders the live time from the browser's time-zone engine.

Each country's outline is projected so longitude maps left-to-right and latitude top-to-bottom. Selecting a country resolves its capital's IANA time zone, and the current instant is formatted into that zone every second for the analog and digital clocks, so daylight-saving and offsets are always correct.
