About the Image Size Reducer
The AlarmDaddy Image Size Reducer shrinks any image to the smallest JPG that still prints crisply on an A4 page. Upload any image type — or paste one straight from your clipboard with Ctrl/Cmd+V — and it caps the resolution to exactly what A4 needs, then re-encodes it as an optimized JPEG. You see the before-and-after size and download the result.
The trick to a small file that still prints sharp is resolution. An A4 page at 300 DPI is 2480 × 3508 pixels — that is plenty for a crisp print, and any pixels beyond that are wasted bytes. The tool scales your image down to fit that box (it never enlarges a small image, which would only look soft), flattens any transparency onto white, and compresses to JPEG.
Choose your print resolution — 150 DPI for a draft, 300 DPI for a standard sharp print, or 600 DPI for high-detail work. Optimize by quality (82% keeps prints looking clean) or set a target file size in KB and let the tool pick the quality for you — handy when a portal or email caps the upload at, say, 500 KB.

How to use this tool

The formula
A4 measures 210 × 297 mm (8.27 × 11.69 in), so its pixel size is simply those inches multiplied by the print DPI: 300 DPI gives 2480 × 3508 px. Your image is scaled to fit inside that box while keeping its proportions, and never enlarged, so it stays sharp on paper without carrying extra pixels. JPEG then trades a little unseen detail for a much smaller file. In target-size mode the tool repeatedly tests JPEG quality levels to find the highest one that still fits under your chosen kilobyte limit.
